If you have active or upcoming crane operations in New York City, be aware of the 2025 holiday inspection schedule from the NYC Department of Buildings. The Cranes & Derricks Unit will not perform inspections during the following weekends.
Make sure your projects are scheduled accordingly so you’re not caught off guard.
No inspections will be performed on these holiday weekends:
- Easter Weekend: Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20
- Memorial Day Weekend: Saturday, May 24 through Monday, May 26
- Independence Day Weekend: Friday, July 4 through Sunday, July 6
- Labor Day Weekend: Saturday, August 30 through Monday, September 1
- Thanksgiving Weekend: Saturday, November 29 and Sunday, November 30
- Christmas Weekend: Saturday, December 27 and Sunday, December 28
- New Year’s Day 2026 Weekend: Saturday, January 3 and Sunday, January 4
While the last set of dates falls in early 2026, they are part of the official 2025 inspection schedule. Keep this in mind when planning late-year activity.
