The New York City Department of Buildings (NYC DOB) recently announced that starting on October 16, 2024, all applications and renewals for Site Safety Coordinator, Site Safety Manager, and Construction Superintendent licenses will be managed online through DOB NOW: Licensing. With the transition, the NYC DOB will no longer support license applications or renewals through the old BIS Options system after October 16, 2024. Any applications submitted in BIS Options must still be completed there, but all new transactions will only be available in the DOB NOW: Licensing system. To use DOB NOW, applicants need an NYC—ID account, which can be created on the NYC DOB’s website. Instead, license holders can log into DOB NOW, access the Licensing section, and manage all updates directly through the system.
