NYC DOB Bronx Borough Office Relocates to Grand Concourse
The NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) recently announced the relocation of its Bronx Borough Office, moving from its current address at 1932 Arthur Avenue, 5th Floor, to a new site at 1775 Grand Concourse, 5th Floor. The relocation is scheduled to be complete on Monday, March 11, 2024, when services at the new Grand Concourse location will officially begin.
In preparation for the move, the Bronx Borough Office at Arthur Avenue will remain open until 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 7. On Friday, March 8, however, all customer service windows at the Arthur Avenue location will be closed to allow for a seamless transition. This brief downtime is essential to ensure that the Grand Concourse office is ready to welcome the public and operate at full capacity by the following Monday. Notably, the contact information for the Bronx Borough Office, including phone numbers and email addresses, will remain the same, ensuring an easy connection for anyone seeking assistance during or after the move.
Several services will be affected during this transition. Record requests specific to Bronx properties, for example, cannot be submitted via DOB NOW: BIS Options on either March 7 or March 8. Additionally, those needing to retrieve records will be unable to do so at the Arthur Avenue site on March 8 or at the new Grand Concourse site on March 11. For individuals who rely on these services, it’s recommended to plan record-related requests and pickups before or after the move to avoid any inconvenience.
Furthermore, the usual service ticket kiosks at Arthur Avenue will be unavailable from February 28 through March 8, 2024. Instead, the office will implement a sign-in sheet to manage visitor services during this period. This temporary measure ensures that visitors can still access services smoothly, even as the office prepares for its upcoming transition.
