NYC DOB Update: Customer Service Windows Closing Early Due to Weather Conditions
In a recent update, the New York City Department of Buildings (NYC DOB) announced that their Customer Service windows across all borough offices will close early on Friday, August 9, 2024. This early closure, set for 3:00 pm, is in response to anticipated weather conditions. NYC DOB urges customers to plan ahead and make use of online services for any transactions or appointments on this day.
While in-person service at borough offices will be temporarily suspended, all online services, including virtual appointments and transactions, will continue without interruption. This measure ensures that customers can still access essential services despite the early closure of physical offices.
The NYC DOB’s Customer Service windows are expected to resume their regular operating hours on Monday, August 12, 2024. However, NYC DOB has also noted that they will post another update if any further changes are required due to weather conditions.
This service modification affects all five borough DOB customer service windows in New York City.
- Bronx Borough Office Address: 1775 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY 10453, fifth floor
- Manhattan Borough Office Address: 280 Broadway, Third Floor, New York, NY 10007; Brooklyn Borough Office Address: 345 Adams Street, Third Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201
- Ten Richmond Terrace, Borough Hall, 2nd Floor, Staten Island, NY 10301; Queens Borough Office Address: 120-55 Queens Boulevard, 1st Floor, Kew Gardens, NY 11424
Additionally closing early are services in the Customer Service Atrium for administrative enforcement, cashier, and licensing departments, housed at 280 Broadway, 1st Floor, New York, NY 10007.
The NYC DOB strongly encourages customers to utilize the online services available through their website. These digital options offer a reliable way to complete transactions and schedule appointments remotely, ensuring that essential business can continue smoothly, regardless of weather disruptions.
